A driver crashed into Manchester’s fire department the same day a man drove into the Chelsea Police station.
Police said they are not related with the one in Manchester being a true accident.
“We did have something that very same day,” said Derrick L. Jackson, a spokesman for the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, of the crashes in the neighboring communities.
However, of Manchester, Jackson said, “It was a minor incident compared to Chelsea and it was someone that had a medical emergency and was not intentional.”
No other details were released about the Manchester crash.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has a substation in Manchester.
The Manchester crash happened at the fire station.
In its initial statement about their own incident, Chelsea Police said their case was still under investigation, but “it is not believed to be related to a similar incident at the Manchester Fire Department, however the investigation is in its initial stages.”
The Chelsea Police are reporting a 43-year-old man purposely backed a truck into the Chelsea police station lobby on May 10. No one was hurt in the incident. The man was taken into custody by police.
