“Since March, I have struggled to understand why the majority cannot pass legislation to expand unemployment benefits, protect workers or provide our schools with the resources to make sure every student has a safe and successful education. Apparently, it’s because the families with at-risk members, single mothers relying on unemployment benefits, and our educators and frontline workers must ‘suffer through it.’ We were elected to solve the problems people in our community and our state face. Not to shrug off our responsibilities and stand by the sideline. This has been the majority leadership since March, offering no path forward and choosing to do nothing while our state suffers needlessly. Michigan deserves better.”
