LIMA TOWNSHIP

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Synopsis of Regular Meeting Minutes

March 16,2020

Due to Safety Mandates issued by the State of Michigan and Washtenaw County regarding the Corona Virus, Supervisor Maier opened the Regular Meeting directly following the Budget Hearing at 6:21 PM and all present stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. All Board members were present and the Agenda was approved as was the Regular Meeting Minutes of February 10, 2020.  There were no Public Comments and Treasurer Nanette Havens submitted the February, 2020 report.

Old Business:A resolution was passed for the Wolf Development at Old US Hwy. 12 and Freer Road requesting approval for concurrent rezoning and a preliminary public unit development. Although the resolution was approved, with one descending vote by Duane Luick, it really onlyrezoned the parcel to match the Lima Township Master Plan currently in place.  Supervisor Maier explained that development contingencies on both sides have yet to be satisfiedand worked out. WolfDevelopment is far from being started and it would be the City of Chelsea to approve it as they are the ones with the infrastructure that would support the development.  A second rezoning resolution for 8855 Gross Road was also approved (3 to 2 with Bater and Havens as the descending votes) R.R. to A.G.-2.  A motion was made and approved to contract with a new, three-year township auditor, Pfeffer, Hanniford&Palka for $6,500 for each year.

New Business: A motion was made and approved to give $100,000.00 to Thornton Farms Condominium Association, from their escrow account as requested, toward needed improvements for their Wastewater Treatment Facility.

The Consent Agenda was approved – Accounts payable for $27,814.25which included the addition of one attorney invoice and payroll for $15,489.37.  Correspondence and Reports were given.  There was one final public comment by Supervisor Maier announcing that the Lima Township Office was closing until further notice due to the Corona Virus and the meeting was adjourned at 7:17 PM.

Respectfully Submitted

Elaine Bater, Township Clerk
